In the age of the internet

There is only one non-family member that I hang out with that I did not meet through the internet or roller derby and that one person is Niko. I met him at culinary school.

I hardly knew him

Dan was a friend of a friend to me. I knew of him and saw him around every now and then but he was not someone I would say that I knew. I still feel sorrow.  I'm still in disbelief that this happened. I don't know how to deal with this. How does one deal with the death of someone she barely knew? I guess this little post in a blog is the only way I know how to pay tribute to him.  I didn't realize that someone that I was so loosely connected to could have such an impact on me.

To the people that knew him:
Believe me when I say you have my deepest condolences. I wish I could do more to comfort you all.

To the people that know me:
I love you. I really do in some form or another. Know this. Know that someone cares about you.

Sincerely,
Nico

It's ok to be imaginary

Due to scheduling conflicts and/or illness, Cira has not had a chance to meet my boyfriend.  With that knowledge, I'm going to let you figure out what is going on in this drawing.

Dreaming of Spring

This was a dream I had during a nap. Except, in my dreams, Michael always has blue rimmed glasses but in reality he does not.

I just saw a great skirt

A Sunday night special:
I'm a sucker for vintage style but it's very hard to find for my body shape and in my price range.  I then try to make some of the simpler patterns adjusted to my measurements, but a lack of sewing skill usually deters me from finishing. I stop for a few months, then an ad for a vintage dress catches my eye and the cycle starts over again. I just saw a great skirt, noticed I have a lot of random fabric, went over to the sewing machine and saw I still had a mangled project in there from a few months ago. It was still stuck and I still couldn't get it out.
